Game Crashes And Reboots My Pc

Question

When i go outside for the first time the game crashes and my pc reboots.

 

I installed the latest gpu drivers and directx.

 

Does anyone know what i must do to get the game working.

 

How can i view the game crash log ??

UPDATE

 

Playing the game on 1280x768 in windows mode now for 1 hour now .. and the game did not crash !!! YET......

Playing the game on 1366x768 in windows mode now for 2 hour now .. and the game did not crash !!! YET......

 

Game crashed again on 1440x900 so this means i cant go higher then 1366x768..

Hello,

 

I am having the exact same issue. I have already submitted an email as per what the top thread post suggested (Log files/DxDiag file, etc)

 

When I run the game, after a few minutes, my entire system reboots. I thought it might be a CPU overheat issue (This would be the only game I own that would have caused this kind of thing, my system is pretty hefty) but I ran it once with a CPU application also running to observe the temp and it did not show anything right as the game crashed.

Hello RAVEN.

 

I have my CPU I7 on water cooling so temps are not the problem.

And my GPU 290 x2 is only getting 60 degrees so thats not supper hot also.

 

I did a complete reinstall for windows 7 64 bit.

I am now redownloading dying light to see if the download was/is corrupted

Whats you max resolution of your monitor.

I got a LG ultrawide 2560 x 1080..

 

Maybe thats the problem ?

Hello again, 

 

So this time, I launched the game for a quick moment to change the default resolution down to a single monitor rather than full screen on all my monitors (This does not correct the crash, I did this before and it still crashes)

Even though I did all of this and closed the game without it crashing, it still created a crash log, this time, it looks just like yours does:

Hello :)

 

Hmm so when the game crashes and the pc reboots it doesn't log the problem then??

 

Can it be that we use a tripple monitor setup ?!?!?

 

Oh no wait i already tested that.. the other day i disabled my left and right monitor in display settings..

 

What ill try next is to disconnect the 2 monitors from my main GPU card..

 

Ill keep you informed.

Thank you for doing the physical testing. I also attempted to remove the other monitors (It seems like we both have a similar setup)

 

I have a support ticket in right now and the latest feedback I got was this:

 

Thank you for sending us your specifications and diagnostic files - they will be very valuable for our developing team.
We are working on performance-related problems and we'll make sure the game runs smoothly and with no issues for all who meet the required specifications.
 
Additionally, try setting your game options in the following manner:

Textures = medium
Shadows = medium 
Foliage = high
View Distance = 0

 
AO = on , Hboa+ = on, Depth of Field = on, MB = off , AA = on
 
Let me know if this works for you, I am gonna try it myself.

Just tried these settings and as soon as I got them in and verified them, my system immediately crashed.

Can I ask what the power of your PSU is?

 

I am currently running a HX Series HX850 Power Supply

 

 

I have a thermaltake 750 watt PSU..

 

Here are my system specs

CPU  Intel Haswell Core i7 4790K 4.0GHz 8MB Box

MDB ASRock ATX Moederbord Z97 Extreme6

MEM KHX26C11T2K2/8X, 8GB 2666MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL11 DIMM (Kit of 2x4GB) XMP Predator Series

GPU Sapphire R9 290 4GB GDDR5 OC TRI-X

SSD Crucial SSD 2.5", 240GB, SATA600, M500

HDD Western Digital Harddisk 3.5" Blue 1TB, SATA600, 7200rpm

 

 

 

I ran the game for 4 hours yesterday without crashing on 1366x768

I thought after the last patch that it was corrected. It played for like 20 minutes but eventually crashed again.

 

I was playing a different game when my system shut down again so I swapped out my PSU and have seen no crashes so far, you might want to look into that.

Hello,

 

I may have found my problem about the pc reboots, its my PSU that cant deliver the needed AMPS to my Sapphire R9 290 4GB GDDR5 OC TRI-x card.

My PSU only gives 18 amps over the 12 volt rails... and the sapphire needs 28/30 AMPS to run at full load.

 

So that's why my pc crashes.

 

I orderd a new PSU Seasonic M12II 620W...
