Why Doesn't Ground Pound Beat Out Dropkick?

Recommended Posts

Just curious since tackle beats out drop kick. It is quite frustrating to ground pound at the same exact time a human initiates a drop kick only to lose out to the drop kick. Please implement this change in the next patch.

GP's and Tackles from NH beat every human move, i experienced also that beast death from above, tackle can also do it but its ALOT harder.

The thing is you need to be faster than human to counter their moves...

It does, when initiated first. It's because it's difficult to judge the ground pound reach and the fact that dropkicks can be initiated almost instantaneously that it seems to never work. But in the right settings at the right time ground pound will beat dropkick.

It beats dropkick when you have very good ping values only, add lag and the fact, that GP have it's own delay and you got laggy GP VS instant dropkick, note that survivor is the host in 99% cases, that means that he is doing everything a bit faster than what you see in your game. You could beat dozen of dropkicks without even seeing humans doing them.

If you have possibility, then ask a friend to play with you through LAN, you can check how it should be in reality (no lag).

To add to this, Drop Kick's magnetism/animation begins immediately, so it's crucial to start the GP animation (which has a very short delay as your hands come down), as they're coming at you, not as they're attempting the Drop Kick post-jump, or if you can get lucky and see them jump a little too early.

It is difficult to time, since you can't tell if the Human's just going to Dodge backward in response and/or had that plan to begin with.
