I don't think cooldowns will fix much of anything to be honest. From what it looked liked, they were both already on you right after the pounce was interrupted and from what I heard, one of them threw their weapon and that is what killed you. What would fix these types of situations would be the human being knocked down after a pounce was interrupted (as opposed to remaining upright as they current now do) to give the hunter the chance to get away without being punished by being blasted by UV.

I agree with what you were saying about the current gamestate whole-heartedly! But I have to disagree about duping. Suggesting that the game would be too difficult if players couldn't cheat is a train of thought moving in the wrong direction.

Airstrikes, Zaid's Flares, Camo Potions, Night Hunter Potions, etc. are all items that are difficult to craft and/or items that are stronger than others simply because of their difficulty to acquire/craft. To have "infinite" of these items defeats the purpose of their rarity and creates imbalance. If a player wants to farm for several hours for plants? Then they can use multiple Camo potions per match. If they want to use Zaid's Flares, they need to give up materials that would otherwise be used to create Medkits.

This is balance. Players can't have "everything" unless they put a ridiculous amount of time into the game, and they need to work hard for what they want. Much like the Night Hunter having to play many, many matches to acquire all of his skills, Humans should need to invest time and energy into the game if they want to use 100+ Zaid's Flares per match, or drink a Night Hunter Potion twice per life, or heal 32 times in a single match. All of which I've experienced, and moreso, because there are no consequences to using items.

As a Night Hunter, I choose to reset myself to gain new skills. Do I need UV Heal to win? No, but it's a great skill and I want it. So I extend my playtime to acquire something new and powerful. Humans do not need to make that choice with Duping.

And if they don't want to do that? Like Night Hunters, they need to find ways around not having the strongest items/weapons available at all times.

If Humans could not cheat, maybe some of the Nerfs/Buffs wouldn't have been implemented. This could be a very different game from what we're playing now. But the sad reality is that duping is now a part of PVP that the developers need to account for when implementing items and gameplay. It's the clear understanding that a majority of Human players will be cheating that causes cooldown nerfs, damage nerfs, and other punishments that hurt legitimate players more than they do the cheaters.

    Ditto!

However, do you want to know what the devs would say?

Tackles in air? Impossible! It's lag.

DFA hitbox too large? It's lag.

I was never supporting balancing the game to match exploiters. I merely stated that the NH cannot remain a glass cannon because of people abusing the exploits, Humans remaining OP, etc. You can tweak and refine the game without actually "balancing" it per se. There are still a million and one reasons why the game remains unbalanced, but the fundamental aspect of the NH still being a glass cannon needs to be changed. I don't think that TL could have seen how people have taken the game in the year or so since it was released and having the NH remain a glass cannon just doesn't fit the bill anymore. However, I will agree with you about your sentiment regarding TL not caring that much anymore. I believe that the big patch that came with The Following was probably the last meaningful hoorah. Let's hope that second time is a charm when / if Dying Light 2 ever comes to fruition.

Everything you said is 100% true. The only time in which I would buy into the idea that the game is "balanced" is when there is an equal reaction to the survivor's actions VS. the NH. I listed off a some ideas in other threads, but I'll post a few here.

    For example:

The Hunter gets punished for missing a GP, then have the human be punished for missing a dropkick.

The Hunter gets punished for missing a pounce due to the animation with the NH falling over after the interrupt. Solution? Have the human fall over as well.

The Survivor gets a short respawn after death, shorten the NH respawn to the same time frame.

The Survivor can negate the effects of the horde spit due to climbing buildings. Solution? Allow the horde to climb.

The UV light has an insane regen speed. Solution? Match this same regen speed to the hunter's spit regen speed. Either shorten the UV regen speed to match the slow spit regen speed of the Hunter OR increase the regen speed of the spits to match the fast regen speed of the UV light.

The Survivor can dodge attacks, allow the NH to dodge.

It is located in the building that has the neon sign that reads "BITES MOTEL". The only way to get into that building is to jump through the available open window. Once you jump through the window, you will be in a room. If you exit that room and enter the next one, you will see this writing on the ceiling of that room - the words are written smack dab above the rotating ceiling fan.

I saw this phrase written on the ceiling in one of the farthest buildings on the map (this building can only be accessed by climbing up through the open window). The actual lettering is written out in pixelated text all the while flickering as if the environment is glitching. The actual building is located around two other buildings where three humans are stationed (one beating the nest, one walking around, and one under pavilion cover blasting a UV flashlight. I have no clue as to what this phrase means, but I figured I'd share it anyway.

While in the lobby, I discovered that if the player stands any of the manhole covers they hear loud thuds, shrieks, screams, etc. Kudos to the dev who decided to put in this little nuance.

The painfully long cooldown for the spits and shields are some of my biggest grievances.

Well, the slowing down didn't help. However, they may have just thrown their weapon anyway and killed you regardless - since they were already on you before you really had the time to react. As I said before, it would help immensely if the humans were knocked down after an interrupted pounce. This would allow the hunter time to flee before the humans were able to punish them with UV. As it stands now, the humans remain upright after an interrupted pounce and the hunter falls down, thus giving the humans plenty of time to punish the hunter with UV either when the hunter is trying to flee or as the hunter turns to face the humans to fight one-on-one.

If my idea was implemented, even if you got slowed down by grabbing the obstacle, you would have had enough time to flee since the human was knocked down and therefore, would be unable to throw their weapon at you for the insta-kill.

    1. The UV spit, Horde Spit, and UV shields are not currently at full capacity at the start of matches. For example, I start a match and should have two horde spits, two UV spits, and two UV shields, yet I only start the match with one of each and have to wait around until the missing ones show up on my HUD? This needs to be fixed.

    2. The range of the human's UV lamp needs to desperately be shortened - this is a common complaint.

    3. The UV spit, Horde Spit, and UV shields need to have a faster recovery time. Currently, there is about a 60-90 sec recovery time in any match that is not 4V1. It really doesn't make any sense to have the recovery time on these items that long. The human's UV light replenishment rate is at least 2-3 times FASTER than the recovery time of the Hunter's defensive weapons.

    4. Hunter respawns after death need to be extremely shortened. It doesn't make sense that the respawn times can be upwards of 15 seconds.

All in all, these four all the most glaring balancing issues that I have come across.

Please completely eliminate aborting all together. Sure it will suck for the few people who have bad internet connection but believe you me, you're helping way more people than you're hurting. As an ultimate survivor who plays everyday, I'd say at least half of our games end in aborts, at least. I don't know if you're aware of how big and annoying the issue is. Leaving the game for any reason should be a defeat. There is no way to workaround giving aborts to legit crashers and internet crashes. It's to easy to simulate. Will you consider this?
