  1. Hi all, Trying to tweak the value of low tier (white/green) items in my mod. I've found plenty of price modifiers for other parts (weapon type, status level etc) but I can't for the life of me see how I can tie in the colour of the item. Any ideas? Anyone already found where it is? I've checked through scripts/inventory/ and scripts/trading/. Thanks -Shockr
  2. The closed beta for the dev tools was announced yesterday. Signup to the list and you might be selected I'm hoping that the tools will allow a lot of this functionality to be implemented -Shockr
  3. And before anyone says "There's England and Scotland", I'd like to make it clear that if we have those two, we also need Wales and Ireland! This would have been much easier with a Union Jack to represent Great Britain as a whole! -Shockr
  4. The durability is listed as Condition(N); However, if you don't want to ever have a broken weapon, the easiest way in my mind is to set <effect id="MeleeWpnDurabilityMulReduce" change="0.0001"/> in default_levels.xml which will make weapons degrade very slowly. Or In the same file, set <effect id="PerfectRepairChance" change="1.0"/>. This will mean that they'll need repair, but will never use a repair slot.
  5. [shameless Plug] SURVIVOR MOD http://www.nexusmods.com/dyinglight/mods/49 The Survivor mod is intended to make life a little more like a survival game by reducing a lot of factors that make Dying Light too much of an arcade game for me and my coop friends. Now you'll have to spend more time scavaging parts you need and crafting should mean using your resources wisely. I have a lot planned to make this a more fleshed out mod, so I'll keep adding content and I'm happy to implement ideas the community has that would fit the mod. The newly implemented hunger system means you'll need to find food and water to stay alive in Harran now, not just a big axe! Lyravega has graciously given me permission to use his Weapon Restoration Project within Survivor Mod. So expect to see a whole host of weapons available at vendors after level 20! Here are some of the features I currently have working. Please consider that there are many mods available now that currently do the same or similar, we're all tweaking the same files from data0.pak - Increased difficulty: now you'll need to earn more experience to gain the higher level skills. Some skills will require more than 1 point to obtain. - Increased level cap and experience required to get there. Currently up to level 40 in all three skill trees. This means you may not be able to get EVERY skill as this would need 42+ skill points, so spend wisely. This works very well in co-op where you can share the burden of crafting items. - Added hunger system. You now need to carry food/water in a backpack slot to stay up to the task. New items [Canned Food] and [bottled Water]. 45 Minute cooldown. - Removed frequency of a lot of loot drops. In many situations, you're just as likely to get an empty cupboard as you were to find something. This also removed certain items from locations that seem out of place. (no more disc blades in kitchen cupboards, for example) - Now the only place to get metal scrap is from weapons you find. Decide if you want to repair your own with the metal scrap, or sell a found item for cash. Loot is dramatically reduced. - Incorporated Weapon Restoration Project by Lyravega!! Now you'll have access to a variety of weapons at levels 20-25 - Low grade weapons (white and green) are now not as useful. All weapons have slightly reduced damage. - Added cooldown to flashlight (45 seconds use, 6 second recharge) - Added stamina usage to kick (this seems to only function when stamina is already draining from melee) - Reduced ammo carry capacity for pistol, shotgun and rifle (30, 30, 60 respectfully) - Reduced stack sizes for throwables - Increased required components for blueprints. All explosives now require at least a battery, cable, electronics - Increased zombie sight range and light reaction - Reduced health (Bonuses still apply) - Zombies now swarm more (and they're just generally more pissed off) - Enabled wallrunning - Enabled grab expert - Reduced inventory size
  6. It's best played with a new character. Whenever you're using mods, it's advisable to backup your character. You'll need to find food immediately with your current character, but I really would advise a new start.
  7. Yup, in my mod, you need top tier weapons. The rest is used to turn into scrap to repair them
  8. Gommy, editing health and bullet damage, and a lot more is already possible: [Shameless Plug]

    Survival Mode (One Life)

    Hi Maxor, If you're using my mod, it contains Lyravega's Weapon Restoration Project, so at level 25 you should have access to the following weapons: Item("Melee_Knife_wrp_AGen"); Item("Melee_BaseballBat_wrp_AGen"); Item("Melee_AxeBig_wrp_AGen"); Item("Melee_AxeBig_wrp_BGen"); Item("Melee_AxeBig_wrp_CGen"); Item("Melee_BigHammer_wrp_AGen"); Item("Melee_BigHammer_wrp_BGen"); Item("Melee_BigHammer_wrp_CGen"); Item("Melee_Cleaver_wrp_AGen"); Item("Melee_Cleaver_wrp_BGen"); Item("Melee_Hammer_wrp_AGen"); Item("Melee_Khopesh_wrp_AGen"); Item("Melee_LongSword_wrp_AGen"); Item("Melee_Machete_wrp_AGen"); Item("Melee_Machete_wrp_BGen"); Item("Melee_Pick_wrp_AGen"); Item("Melee_Pick_wrp_BGen"); Item("Melee_Pick_wrp_CGen"); Item("Melee_Pipe_wrp_ANew"); Item("Melee_ShortAxe_wrp_AGen"); Item("Melee_ShortKnife_wrp_AGen"); Item("Melee_ShortSword_wrp_AGen"); Item("Melee_Sickle_wrp_AGen");
  10. Yeah, the last few lines at the bottom of inventory_gen are the ones I use to tweak the damage in my mod: //WHITE DamageMultiplier(1, 0.10); DamageMultiplier(2, 0.20); //GREEN DamageMultiplier(3, 0.15); DamageMultiplier(4, 0.30); //BLUE DamageMultiplier(5, 0.50); DamageMultiplier(6, 0.70); //VIOLET DamageMultiplier(7, 0.70); DamageMultiplier(8, 0.90); //ORANGE DamageMultiplier(9, 0.90); DamageMultiplier(10, 1.10); However you can change the hermite splines if you really want to change the curves: /data/curve_di.xml Search the file for the "wpn_melee_damage_spread_white" hermite spline config and you'll see all of them
  11. I do apologise. I've had to look into a lot of this for my mod, but in relation to what you need: The weapons themselves have static values, instead the colours provide mutlipliers for the stats. You can find these values right at the bottom of \data\scripts\inventory\inventory_special.scr I hope that helps.. by all means, take a look at my Survivor mod over on NexusMods -Shockr

Mod Folder For 1.4 Patch ?

Yeah, totally easy to do. Even if people just select a mod archive and add it into their game, tweak the load order. I just need it to display conflicts and stuff.. It's not the writing it, it's the supporting it

Mod Folder For 1.4 Patch ?

That's very bizarre. If there's only one file in your data3.pak then it's very odd that it's causing you trouble. I assume you've tried connecting on both machines (invite from you and invite from them)? You can try Private game or LAN I believe and these should be ok to use mods. If this still isn't working, PM me your default_levels.xml and I'll have a quick scan through it. Seriously thinking about releasing a mod manager...

    Mod Compatibity With Other Users?

From what I'm aware, a private game will allow modified files. I've heard someone mention that you need to be in the game, not in the menu when the invite goes through.. but I haven't tested that myself. To be honest, I find that DLM has caused more problems for people than good. Depending on the outcome of the mod-tools from Techland.. I may just write a mod-manager to avoid all this trouble people are having.

Mod Folder For 1.4 Patch ?

I've also just realised we're talking in two posts!!! bad etiquette If all of those options don't work, then we have to consider that there's another reason files are becoming mismatched. Are you running the same version of the game? Are you running the same language? -Shockr

    Mod Compatibity With Other Users?

Hi there, I've found that if you have ever used DLM to play the game, it creates files in %userprofile%/documents/dyinglight/out/. Then, each time you run the game it copies content from /out/data/ and repacks your data3.pak. One thing to try would be to delete the /out/ directory on both computers (backup if you have concerns) and then attempt sharing the pak3.pak after launching the game once. I hope that helps -Shockr

Mod Folder For 1.4 Patch ?

That's very odd. Do you get notified that you are running the game with modified files? If you still have trouble, get steam to validate files and then try modding your data3.pak again and resharing. -Shockr

Mod Folder For 1.4 Patch ?

The Dyling Light Manager has been taken off NexusMods, but it would pack mods into the data3.pak file and place it in the game directory. If one of you has run this at any point, then any files in your documents/dyinglight/data directory will also be pulled. If you're still having trouble, delete your documents/dying light/out/ directory. (Keep a backup if you're worried). Then attempt sharing your data3.pak again. Make sure it's placed inthe game folder /steamapps/dying light/DW/data3.pak -shockr
  21. Well, Techland are welcome to use my mod

Mod Folder For 1.4 Patch ?

You can place the mod files inside data3.pak which you can find in /steamapps/common/dying light/DW/ folder. This is what DLM did and how I distribute my mod on modnexus It works just like a zip compressed file, so use 7zip or some such archiver to open and view/edit the contents. -Shockr
  24. Yeah.. nevermind.. please ignore me.. I figured it out
