Is this what you're talking about? I can't see it from above, only from the side shown below and from the wires running across the U-shape opening of the building. I even tried going to the opposite side from the one shown below, where there are wires connecting across the street. I can't see any of the "diamonds" from that side. If this is it, now you've got me feeling crazy because I can't find a way in, either. Maybe it's a glitch...?
Not here to argue about game design as the gameplay itself is awesome. It is however surprising to see that such a polished game had such a mediocre story and such an unlikable main character. I was fairly baffled to see that on the hiring page for Techland they are not looking for a lead writer or writers in general for any Dying Light expansions or further games.
Lets take a look at our main character and the setting. It has a fantastic premise as we work as an operative sent into the zombie apocalyptic city of Harran to infiltrate and recover a lost file. I was thinking to myself that there is no way to mess this up. However our character is as professional as an alcoholic hobo hired to buy liquor.
Crane has zero professional integrity and is acting like a self-righteous immature child who is a self-declared moral-police officer. He gets emotionally attached to the survivors and is stupidly disobedient towards his employers. GRE says it best themselves "You are not mother Theresa".
I've been playing video games for over 20 years with a main interest in RPGs for the sole reason of more freedom to "decide who I am". In the case of Gordon Freeman in the half-life series you play a silent protagonist, but it is acceptable because you can then fill in what goes on inside his head yourself.
Edit: The following section has story spoilers!!
Dying light has RPG elements but you have no option to:
1) Join or side with Rais OR give the file to your employers (Instead you must painfully watch Crane play the part of Ghandi on roids) 2) Drop Rahim off the rooftop 3) Give Jade to Rais 4) STOP BEING AN EMOTIONAL SELF RIGHTEOUS WRECK
The game is seemingly trying you to force you into liking the survivors and care for them in the little time he spent with them. I had to roleplay that Crane was just a really good actor each time he had an emotional meltdown of guilt over these meaningless people that are doomed anyway. If the writing team tried to make me care for these people they failed, by trying too hard to force it onto you that you do care about them.
That you have ZERO CONTROL over your character would have been excusable if you were somewhat of a neutral character morally. However the main character was at least by me, considered repulsively over-the-top "Good guy" to the point there is no way GRE would've sent this amateur in in the first place - so the plausibility of you even being allowed inside the city was pretty much demolished.
Conclusion / TL;DR
Zombie Apocalypse often has human nature (for good and worse) as a sub-theme. Instead of gray areas (morally and story-wise etc.) the writers only provides extremes in both spectrums. Story itself was mediocre with zero depth and imagination and a complete lack of surprising twists. The main villain + main character were horribly cliche Hollywood archetypes, again of both extremes. The writing team has zero imagination and writing skills. If the goal was to make people like the main character and care for the survivors I'd say its a big fail due to the shallow and narrow depth of the characters and the attempts to force the player into caring.
Please hire a new lead writer. It is a tragedy to experience such a fantastic gaming product when the weak-link is not the developers but the people with the pens and paper.
We all know that there seems to be a problem with the saves and progress . It happened to me once so I deleted everything and started fresh
I just played 5 hours doing various quests and leveling up . saw the save icon poppin in the corner all the time . I even took a quest to make sure I saw it again before quiting and I even load the map (fadeout) to make sure it would save .
I quit the game by the menu and Dying light just crashed on me for no reason , bottom line is im loggin back in to see if my game is still there but no it isn't . I click play campaign and al there was there is a big **** you , all I could do was a new game
Now I put 20 hours on this game since it came out and I couldnt achieve a single thing
this is getting out of hands and it really ruined my dying light hype and expectations !! im so pissed , this is UNNACEPTABLE !!! how could you fail something as easy as a proper save
