Fix Matchmaking

Recommended Posts

Every time there is a sale for Dying Light there is a massive influx of new players, and somehow they are being paired against Ultimate Survivors, or against players who have played for a very long time. This shouldn't happen. A Runner should not be up against an Ultimate Survivor ever. This cause demoralization, and sways people away from the game. Please fix this Matching so that players are actually matched according to skill. Also can some one from Techland, or in these forums thoroughly explain how the matchmaking system works? I'm just in shock and awe that I am constantly fighting against new players that the Quickplay option seems to think its okay.

Every time you win a game, you earn x amount of ELO points, or in other words, ladder points. You climb a ladder and every time you reach a certain amount of ELO, you rank up. If you lose a game, your ELO decreases by x amount of points and therefore matched with newer players. The problem isn't in the matchmaking, but instead which matches they show to a person with a lower ELO. People with lower ELO scores still see players with high ELOs and after the Night Hunter players low ELO survivors multiple times, they believe it is super easy to push over the survivors. Therefore, they join the higher ELO survivors thinking they'll be able to handle it.

2 solution :

Disables invasions in the settings of your game ^^

This isn't a solution. Techland could address this matchmaking issue easily by just adding a new option for survivors to choose the minimum rank of the Night Hunter that they want to play against. For example, biters invade me often despite the warning. If said option existed, I could set minimum rank to Widow Maker or Juggernaut and nothing below that rank could join.

For now, the best solution to avoid an influx of new hunters invading (if you are playing 1v1) is to simply drop out. However, even this gets irritating as some players are persistent and keep rejoining.
