Hud Options Need To Be Present For Users.

Inexcusable for the user to be denied the freedom to customize/remove the HUD in Dying Light on the PlayStation 4, or any video game for that matter. Remarkable that one has to remind a development team about such a basic issue. Fix this issue permanently, by allowing users the freedom to manipulate the HUD as they so wish, on any game, any platform, period. Thanks.

Hud Options Need To Be Present For Users.

Volatile and Airsickhydra --- Here are my answers and remember.. It could be an option to toggle off the HUD, not something everyone is forced into doing.. Go to the game options, and select - HUD ON/OFF - Keep that in mind as I answer the questions. How will we know how much HP we have? - Allowing us to plan for fights etc and estimating if fall damage will kill us. ANSWER - that's the point, we don't want to know.. BUT Rapid heartbeat is a indication of too much damage. How will we locate waypoints? The game is based on traveling quite long distances. ANSWER - Survivor Sense shows waypoints. Also I pretty much know the maps by heart. Survivor Sense is still there if needed. How will players know to press X for example next to a child zombie? ANSWER - Because we have done it a thousands times before. Remember new people could still play with the HUD on.. Would we need to press start every time we want to know how many of an item we have? ANSWER - I can look in the inventory, If its an equipped equipment item, I open the round equipment selection wheel and can see the number. How do you know if you have a repair left on your current weapon or not? ANSWER - A message tells you that you need to repair. We are talking about HUD icons, not prompts.. Besides that I can tell when my weapon is not working as it should. Also we have the weapon selection wheel that can tell us how far gone a weapon is. For awhile I played with a no HUD mod and this is how I know these answers. It sure made the game a lot more enjoyable. I am sick of hand holding. I am tired of the wallhacks. Its one of the things I hate about games like Far Cry3-4..

Hud Options Need To Be Present For Users.

100% agree Conker. Mind-boggling to think that so many adult-aged, seemingly intelligent development team members fail ( clearly by evidence of no HUD options within many video games) to grasp our view on this topic. They "hand-cuff" their customers to their own ridiculous stubbornness in refusing to allow users an opportunity to customize/remove in-game HUD elements. Although subjective, I personally find most HUD´s kiddy-looking, junky, and cluttery. EA´s Dead Space understood this immediately in their game development. Eliminating needless clutter from the screen instantly injects a higher level of slickness, polish, maturity, and immersion to just about any video game. Health Bars, Stamina Bars, Graphical Weapon Icons, Bullet-Count Reminders, Magic-Potion Levels, Numbers ( points ) Per-Hit Displays, Level-Rank Displays, Kiddy-Colored Circles Beneath Game Character Displays, "Hold X To Stay In Cover" prompts that remain until user leaves cover. Seriously? Welcome to Junk-ville folks. Welcome to Kiddy-Land. It´s pathetic. Total Garbage. Wisen-up devs.

Hey everyone, Towards the end of last year we asked for your feedback on the general balance of Be the Zombie mode. We were hearing that you felt the Night Hunter was underpowered, but we wanted hear your specific points on what you'd like to see us change. Thanks for all of your input - based on what you told us we have made some changes to BtZ. These changes are now live: Drop Attack (AKA 'Death from Above') Height required increased Grab distance reduced UV Flashlight Distance reduced (in 2 vs. 1 to 4 vs. 1 matches) Cool down time increased Initial cost increased (so that flicking the flashlight on and off repeatedly drains it more quickly) Spits Explosion radius increased Explosion delay reduced Effect duration for Control The Horde and Light Disable increased Cool down times decreased (in 3 vs. 1 and 4 vs. 1 matches) Survivor Sense Night Hunter now appears on Survivors' mini-map(s) for less time Misc. Auto-balance reduced overall. We hope these changes make Btz even more enjoyable for everyone and, of course, please let us know what you think. James

    Gun Silencer available now

Update your game and go to your Quartermaster to get the free Gun Silencer Blueprints — which have been added to Dying Light by popular demand. The silencer doesn’t break and it has no cool down, so you can use it as much as you like. It does require special Subsonic Ammo, which you can find by looting police vans around Harran.

Be The Zombie Balancing Update - 12/1/2018

Well, just spent the night in all sorts of matches, testing the new update. And let me just tl;dr right now: That was the most fun I've had in Dying Light in a while. And not just for Hunter. Sure, it was fun playing the Hunter and finally not being afraid entering 2v1s and 4v1s because of the absolute animation camp and medkit spam (which is still entirely possible), plus winning despite it. But playing Survivor? That is the hidden gem of this patch. I have not tested 4v1, but I did play a few 2 and 3v1s, mostly some 1v1s. My 1v1s: It was incredibly fun facing even an average Apex Predator, let alone the Hunter who really knew who he was doing - a game I barely won, but it felt so good and it was so fun. I felt like I was at my peak again, despite not really playing Survivor recently because of how easy it was. Had to use everything in my disposal, think on my feet, take a few risks, prioritize nests to killing the Hunter - a.k.a fight for my life against a stronger, superior being, the way it should be. For the first time, the Hunter feels like a threat, but a threat you can definitely overcome with skill and a bit of luck. In terms of balance, the Hunter this time around is slightly more likely to win a 1v1, while before the update it was the opposite situation. 2v1: The new most balanced mode. The nerf to 2-handers is surprisingly useful, but not too harsh, the spits are plentiful but definitely not too much. Both sides have the arsenal needed to take down the other side, so all that's left is skill vs skill. Nobody is favored here. 3v1: We faced a pretty good Apex Predator, while we were a fairly uncoordinated team (no offense, Cartier, much love) but individually skilled, so our overall level was around the Hunter's. Even despite that, we only had 3 spawns on the last nest to kill for the win, until we finally went down. If we had better teamwork we would've definitely won, so again - a very balanced game. I would favor a good team to beat a good Hunter in a close game here, so this in itself balances out with 1v1 mode. Autobalance was not that apparent; spits were, for the first time, effective even if they don't stick; buffed crossbow damage (not mentioned in the notes) was a nice addition; the Hunter... feels smoother to control. I can't really explain it, did you change anything in terms of his locomotion? Anyway, I will write again when I experience a 4v1 from Survivor's side. This update, at least for me, is the spark that made me love the game again. As a final note to James Gallagher: don't listen to people like the person above me - a player who exclusively plays Survivor, has 3 times less playtime than what's needed to know the PvP inside and out, and basically requires the developers to change the game to compensate for his own shortcomings. It's by listening to players like him that the PvP of this game got in its worst state by far, which was before this new update. Thank you for reading and listening to our feedback.

    Suggestion for a new object

Hello, I propose an object which could be very useful. A parachute or some kind of hang-glider that could help us to hover over a long distance without dying from falling damage. This object could cost very expensive components, it could be manufactured with rather rare components. I think it's a good idea !

    IDEAS for 10 DLCs

I have seen a reply of this post talking about a zombie arena with hordes of zombies that could be like the far cry 4 arena where every five rounds its a special horde that could be with a demolisher or a volatile idk. It could be really easy to implement using the rais arena and also adding a new skill tree that you can level up in the arena and it would give you new guns or advantages in the arena that would help you to reach highest rounds. Sorry for my english ADD GUN ATACHMENTSSSSSSS

    Problems With The Hunter

The objective is to destroy all five nests. You win by destroying nests. They say this before every single match. The objective of the night hunter is to kill the survivors 10 times so obviously he needs to be able to hunt. The reason the night hunter can be killed is so that survivors have a chance to complete their objective without being murdered every time he's near (and he moves fast). They need to be able to fight back and defend themselves. This does not mean they can turn the tables and go hunt the night hunter whenever they want. You as a SURVIVOR should not be trying to actively hunt the night hunter at all to save time. You supposed to SURVIVE and destroy the nest before you are wiped out. There are times when you should fight and times you should run. That's what it means to be hunted. Knowing the difference is crucial to playing as a night hunter. As a survivor you never have to run, you can always be on the offense. It should be the other way around.

This Is My Last Purchase From Techland

Who cares about your bullshit.....dead island was a great game , riptide was to same with the first but it was funny....and dying light is brilliant, no other game got parcour and zombies.....themworld look beutiful...much details....and the game lives for crafting....if you want you can produce your own game called "dying s*it"....when you dont like dying like, ok....but do you dont see that all people here love the game?! I think dying light is one of the most realistic apocalipse game....there happen funny and unique things i never will forgot ....when you dont like it, dont play it....you only are talking bad about techlands game.....i never saw a man who dont like anything at that game, here are alway a few of people which dont like something at the game, but you.....!! To much negativ

Dying light is an amazing game, But there is some things that i've realised would make the game a lot better: *New Guns, Especially SNIPERS and RPGs *A REWARD for completing ALL SIDE QUESTS, like a special outfit or some crazy new weapons! I was really disappointed when i didn't receive anything for all my effort and time i spent on doing this! *A PvP gamemode unlocked after the main story where you can hold up in buildings and fight against, not only the infected but other players! E.g when you die you drop all your stuff and people can loot your body etc (Almost like the DayZ Standalone game on steam) I undersand this would be a lot of work for techland but i think it would make the game one million times better! *New map? This is something i wouldn't be to surprised about being a DLC. I think it would be amazing to have a little change in scenery for a little extra money! Slums and OT get pretty boring after a while! So a small, fun map with some bonus quests would be great! If Techland see this, i want you to know, Congratulations on what you have created and you should feel proud as heck to say you developed this game! The suggestions above are (like i said) suggestions that WILL bring more players to the game, and for me, the PvP gamemode would be amazing, as an xbox player, there isn't a game or gamemode on any console game like that (i dont think)! PS if the PvP gamemode does get created, please dont make it for PC only. I beg Thanks for reading, i really appreciate it!

Be The Zombie Balancing Update - 12/1/2018

So when is the spit regen in team games getting nerfed? I get that you need feedback and can't act on impulse, but literally every single player, including Hunter-only players, agrees that they need a serious tone down. A minimum of 45 spits per match and going as far as 60+ is insane. While it can be quite fun surviving against nigh-impossible odds, it does not make it an equal playing field when it comes to skill. Before the update, when a skilled Hunter entered a team game of maybe slightly above-average players, he still had a sizeable chance of losing because Survivors had a better/easier/more exploitable kit. Now it's the opposite - a low-skilled Hunter can definitely take down an individually better team, just by knowing how to spam spits, spam UV heal and retreat if nothing hits. Witnessing that kind of play is, quite frankly, ugly. It's like I'm watching DFA crows and DK waiters in a Hunter version. Just like how that was a problem that was thankfully removed, this incessant spam of spits needs to go too. I don't really understand how hard it could be to change a few numeric values, but I'm not the dev here. It would be great if we could at least get a response that some kind of tweak down is coming.

Hey everyone, I’ll get to the point: We hear that many of the top Be the Zombie players think it could be better balanced. We want to make things better, but first we need to properly understand what changes you want to see. So we want your input on the overall balancing of BtZ. Below I’ve listed some of the variables that determine the balance of BtZ. These are things that we can either decrease or increase without necessarily needing to release a new patch. We’d like you to reply on this thread with: The top three things you think we should increase. The top three things you think we should decrease. I appreciate that you will have other suggestions for bigger changes or additions but please, for the time being, stick to what we’ve laid out here. It will really help us get a clearer picture of how you feel about BtZ. Thank you for your input and your support. Here are the variables: HUMAN UV Flashlight Damage to Night Hunter Duration Cool down time Flares Cool down time Drop attack Height required Grab radius (how close to the NH you need to be to land a Drop Attack) Grappling Hook Stamina cost Cool down time NIGHT HUNTER Damage Tackle Ground Pound Claw Spits Effect duration Cool down time UV Block Effect duration Cool down time WEAPONS (Note: damage to Night Hunter and damage to Nests are separate variables). Female Protagonist Dlc Or Mod Possible ?

Hello Techland Team and Community. I am a Female Gamer and i whould Love to know, if it is possible to make a Mod where the actual Protagonist could be Female. I find Kyle Crane pretty sympatic but i whould love to have Realistic Immersion for Female Gamer s aswell. I whould not Mind if the Voice is turn to Subtitle Only, for Crane cause i dont think it is so easy to Voice over the Dialog with a Female Voice. I do not think the Animations need any kind of change, just the actual First Person Body should be good to go for the Beginning. May you can make a playable Female Crane Version, for DLC i whould buy that witouth thinking about it. I only Discovered the Slums so far but if there are erotic Scenes, in the Game i do not Mind if it were Female on Female. That Kyle Crane needs to be a Guy is no Argument for Me, i do not hear him say much Manly things at all. Anyway for DLC or Mod this whould make the Game much more interesting for Female Gamer s. I have more than 28 Hours in the Slums only with just 10% or 8% of the actual Story cause i love that Game : ) . I do not have all Discovered, cause i just had to look at the Beautiful Scene sometimes, that took Time too. I ones read a Thread where someone complain, that Br ea sts (Realy censor the Word Brea sts) has not much to do with Immersion, for Females it does so "mean words" for this Person. I find it sometimes realy awkward and dumb, that People say some Breast sizes are actual Sexistic and surreal completly nonsense. We are all not Equal and Different and there are many Types of Male s and Feamle s in the World. So complain about Sexism is pretty Unlogical for Me, i do not get smaller Breast size that Men stare less, just for a example haha ...realy annoying some Feminism has nothing to do with Equality at all. If some Man whould just buy this DLC or install the Mod for the Boo bs (Realy censor this word too?) , i whould care much less than having no Option, to play a Female Character cause i am a Female in Reality too and I prefer that. I am using the Ninja Outfit cause i do not like to play a Full Bearded Guy at all. This Game has so much Potential, i Hope it gets the Attention it needs and way more Female Gamer s with DLC or Mod s. Thanks fo reading this Thread and please do not Delte it, it means much to Me that People pay atleast a bit Attention to it. And if you ask Yourself what i mean by Female Character, i find the New Lara Croft pretty Sweet, not the Anime Cartoonish One i have some similaryties to Her, the New One not the Other.. RinXair <3 ..

    The Zombie And Survivor Balance

Before reading, please take note this is my first post on this forum, and I made an account simply to express my opinion on the pvp aspect of dying light. I think Btz is an awesome gamemode regardless. (it does evolve better than evolve) But I feel some changes are in order . I have been playing a fair share of battles - both as a survivor and a night hunter, and it's become apparent to me how unbalanced the game is in the survivors favour. This is coming from a relatively unbiased point of view, as I enjoy playing as the hunter and the survivor. I could write 10 pages worth of text as with different scenarios I've encountered which has left me puzzeled. But I will keep it short and to the point with what is (IMO) the problems with the game mode. Melee combat In dying light, the Hunter is penalized and punished for mistakes made in the melee department. While the Survivor meets punishment to a much less of an extent comparison 1 Night hunter: If a night hunter misses a ground pound, you are pretty much guaranteed a death against a relatively skilled player, the 3 hit quota is very much used up by the time the animation is finished. Human: if the human tries and fails a drop kick attack (which in most cases hits because of the magnetism in the game, on par with death from above) there is very little chance the survivor will die from that mistake, as the hunters melee attacks are weaker and slower. Comparison 2 Night hunter: Against experienced players, a night hunters attempted tackle is usually met with eating dirt and general dismay, and attempting to kill a human with chaining tackles is not really an option. Human: should the survivor attempt a drop kick on a night hunter, it will undoubtedly hit, even if the night hunter jumps beforehand to avoid the attack the strong gravitational pull of the attacks will most likely pull the night hunter back into the games desired position. and if one drop kick wasn't enough, it's not really a problem. Because for the humans the drop kick is in every right unavoidable and very much repeatable until the night hunter is no more. Now a few people and the devs would argue "oh, nipple. The night hunter is made for stealth and not close quarters, you are not supposed to go toe-to-toe with humans" With your spits used up (which boasts an impressive 90 second(!) recharge time 1v1) and missed due to survivors excessive dodge range & speed,(on a side-note I experience roughly 1/2 of my spit sticks arent detected, maybe due to some invincible frames happening when humans dodge or use medkit?) and your UV depleted because 3 seconds of UV light will leave you limping. What is left to do for the night hunter? melee attacks. and with what I stated above combined with UV light spamming from 1-4 survivors; you do the math. The way it stands now, unless the hunter is willing to delve into melee combat there is not really a viable way for the hunter to combat decent - skilled survivor players. I understand the humans are supposed to have the melee advantage, and the night hunter is supposed to have the stealth advantage, But the survivor gets the melee advantage, and the hunter gets nothing. As they always have the tag on you with constant survivor sense tracking. plainly redicoulus UV range, their very own tendril locomotor in the form of a grappling hook. and the camouflage skill, which I feel would be better suited as a hunter tool. As the balance is quite delicate in multiplayer games, here are a few suggestions: - make the survivor sense, give the direction of the hunter, and make it a cool down. not a long one, but something around 5-10 seconds. - give the night hunter a faster spit recharge - give the uv-light a shorter range, like 30-40% reduction. - give uv light shorter duration Thanks for reading!

Hey guys, Not sure if you are aware, but there is a phone number inside of Dying Light that actually works. A few people called it up, and left some messages on it. Here is a short sample of what we've got:

    Problems With The Hunter

Just like when Humans were upset over losing OHKO weapons and OHKO Nest-kills, this is simply an instance where people don't realize how little it will affect competitive play until it happens. The "recharge" rate of the UV Light shouldn't be nerfed. Humans die without the light. They should have it available to them as often as possible, as long as they aren't doing something blatantly wrong, or are using it too much as a sword and not enough as a shield. Using it as a shield is "suppressing the aggression of the Hunter," and I'm all for that. That's why I said, "and the like." Using it as a weapon is only possible because their are no consequences to abusing it. Similar to duping Flares; only abuseable because, "Why care about wasting them when I have 800,000?" Flares wouldn't have needed a cooldown if people had to make them. The UV Light won't need a "nerf" if you can't use it infinitely. As I mentioned, the only reason the UV Light runs out is because Humans know it can without consequence. If the light never came back, you would never let it run out. If the light runs out, the sheer amount of time relative to Human gameplay is staggering. I'm honestly shocked when I hear it short-circuit in BtZ matches. That's a "hold down the button, it doesn't matter" mentality that doesn't belong in the game. I don't quite get what you meant by "There's a difference between a real and balanced game." Are you saying the game can't be balanced? If so, that's just silly. I'm all for the UV Light only returning upon death if it has been depleted. I stand by the statement that if you actually let that thing run out, you're doing something wrong.

    Thanks Techland - Sincere

I've been playing Dying Light just right after launch and I have enjoyed all of it. I find myself stopping and just looking around at the details in the game; like how the clocks on ovens match up with in-game time. I also enjoy the story and the side quests keep me engaged. I haven't played much online yet, but the few times I have I found it to be a cool way to inject a PvP type of mechanic. I also haven't finished the game just yet, but I look forward to seeing the conclusion. Keep up the great work and I truly look forward to what is next for Dying Light and your other titles. Best Regards, Jaisin

    Gold Weapons On Console, Broke?

Hey guys, I can see that the Gold Weapons are creating a bit of a ruckus. Now, to all the console players out there - they do exist on the PS4 and Xbox One. They are definitely there. However, they are very hard to find/come by. We are discussing the possibility of changing the odds of getting them to be stacked in your favor, ie making it a bit easier to find them, but I do guarantee that the Gold Weapons are definitely in the game. Keep looking guys. They are out there.

Yes RMJ I am unbiased, and bottom of the line, no matter how you look at it, the effort needed from a hunter to win compared to a human is just rediculous. You have to employ advanced tactics, multiple combos, which can basically only be done every 2 minutes for the hunter. and even then if the survivor know what he's doing the hunter won't have an opportunity to pounce because he's flaring up the place and your UV won't be completely recharged until the uv surpessor wears off. however on the other hand, if a human jukes a hunter when he's loading up a groundpound, and the hunter misses. the hunter will get killed instantly 90% of the time with 3 hits. As you say to if you want a balanced game, do you truly think that the night hunter can achiebe the same results as the survivor if he gives the same amount of effort, like for real? I have played survivor as well, and I have to say. Against most hunters I face, I don't have to try to win. I can put in minimal effort, employ the same constand dodge - uv until it drains, juke the hunters ground pound, and three hit him before he escapes. if the survivor prioritizes the hunter over the nests, and constantly watch for him. there's not really much the hunter can do other than gp. and even that if failed once -results in a death sentence for the hunter

Hud Options Need To Be Present For Users.

If I'm not mistaken, the most viewed video in Dying Light's arsenal (over 6.4mil views and counting) was presented without any sort of HUD. Why do I feel slightly.. mislead? Now the game has undergone many, many changes and tweaks (2 delays?) since that video so some might claim that video as no longer being relevant to the actual release. However, from watching that video - I was led to believe that upon my purchase there would be an option to remove the (as the OP puts it harshly but necessary) kiddy on-screen displays that clutter the screen. He's right. This is a mature game for adults that aren't dumb. Let us think. Let us learn your game. Let us memorize where safe zones are so when night arrives we'll actually feel satisfied escaping a pursuit instead of just running in the direction of green monopoly properties on the GPS. Make it an option for the people looking for the extra challenge. We don't need a chupacabra quest to-do list covering the screen. If we want to know what our objective is, we can check it from the quest menu. Throw us a bone guys. This is 2015. We're not playing on the Super Nintendo anymore. 'Personalization, in the form of something so simple as on-screen displays being untweakable is disappointing to put it lightly. 'Don't get me started on the Survivor Sense. That feature is ingeniously implemented and makes me wonder why the minimap was even a thought during development. I encourage the attitude the OP maintains toward Techland's game. Why? Because if Techland listens to feedback, then they're getting an eyeful of the better interest in their game and it's mutually beneficial.

Hud Options Need To Be Present For Users.

Just some hypothetical questions for you guys. If we remove the hud... How will we know how much HP we have? - Allowing us to plan for fights etc and estimating if fall damage will kill us. How will we locate waypoints? The game is based on traveling quite long distances. How will players know to press X for example next to a child zombie? Would we need to press start every time we want to know how many of an item we have? How do you know if you have a repair left on your current weapon or not? I also want more freedom to customise and make things immersive, but removing the entire hud in a first person game? - I can't think of one game i've played on console which has done that. It's being discussed here as if it's a game-breaking issue that the devs "obviously" should have foreseen, forgive me if i'm wrong but having a hud is standard in 99.9% of games. Wouldn't it be better to request a more minimalistic hud? - One that doesn't invade the screen as much. Perhaps some more visual tweaks to compensate and free up space? I'd like to see the change too but just flat out removing the hud seems pretty drastic in a game where there is a lot of information to keep track of.

    Dear Hellraid Fans

Dear Hellraid Developers, In the last few months you have stayed rather quiet about Hellraid. I'm sure you have a good reason for it: you're hopefully still working on the game. Since many of us have asked for an update on the game through the forums, we thought it would be great if you could go out of your way and type something. The fan base is still here, even after playing Dying Light. We certainly hope you put your energy into this game and follow through with Hellraid being Techland's next major release. Everything we know about Hellraid is at least four months old, and we want.... more. However, we console players are glad that Hellraid will be on next-gen and some of us aren't happy about the Early Access cancellation. We understand the reasons for deciding against releasing and early version of the game. Since Early Access was cancelled, can you show us a gameplay video, or screen shot, or a blog post that can correctly represent your product? Of course we all want to raid hell as soon as possible, and make our own custom demon slayer. We certainly hope the game will be great, but we have nothing to believe the game is still under way. Since Hellraid is being expanded, we would like to finally see the unveiling of Hellraid in its new form. It is now March 2015, and we want that exciting news. And so we wait. Hellraid Fan Base

It would probably be one of the easiest things to fix. For a game that about immersion especially at night the hud clutter just ruins it.

Hellraiders! A Demon To Name Awaits You!

A 'Wrach' It means Witch in Welsh. It fits the type of enemy it is (a spellcaster) and when said aloud in either its Welsh pronunciation or mispronounced in English, it sounds like a raven or some other sort of unnerving looking bird.

I like them Deadly_Jack - I like them a lot. Two very different styles, but very fitting. First one makes me wanna run like mad, and smash stuff, but in a really cool way. The second makes me want to stand on top of a rooftop, wind blowing in my hair, and me looking down on the city in full "thinking" mode ("I can't believe this has happened, but you have to stay strong Michal. For the city, and the people that are in it"). You've taken me to a different place with your music choices Deadly_Jack. I salute you.
